Wow great vocals on this! There's also a lot of cool interplay on the instruments, nice bass stuff. Strange keyboard stuff kind of swirling in and out.

The drum sound is interesting, there's a lot going on but they're muffled and then not-muffled. That's actually a cool effect.

Nice. I really, really like the vocals. :) (Smile)

as far as im concerned i dont believe this will be the final mixing, it seems to me they still have a few of the levels off, especially the drumming. The vocals are dead on, probably the best recorded vocals from Tom in a very long time, arguably better then his solid vocals on flask in hand. I would like them to try a crazier/faster version recording but i highly doubt they have the time. The trumpet is also quite good, Tom had really been in the groove, he told me he demolished his lips trying to perfect the trumpet parts on all the recordings lol, also the normal "Dont talk to me about life, Life, Life" screamer wasnt there for the vocals so they gathered an ensemble of 3-4 people to do it instead. pretty sure that was my idea. Cant wait to hear their swing song recorded, its a dandy, wow long comments.

This kind of puts me in mind of some of the better selections from the "Nuggets: Psychedelic" collection, wed with a Paul Westerbergish PostMod wit. The horn lines and the shouted parts of the chorus are especially tasty. To my ears, there are also shades of that era when they first started referring to "College Rock" as "Alternative". The rhythmic interplay between the guitars and the drums, especially, bring that to mind. The resulting melange sounds hip, pertinent, vital...
